Welcome to the QUT ERM system
This is the QUT ERM Splash page where new announcements will be periodically updated
'Expiry Date' now available in ERM
Previously, your approval’s 'Expiry Date' could only be found in the approval email generated by ERM or by contacting the Office of Research Ethics and Integrity (OREI).
You can now view the 'Expiry Date' of your approved ethics and biosafety applications in the 'Work Area' of your ERM profile. (Image below)

Human Research Ethics
An amended 2025 version of the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research (NS)
has been released by NHMRC, with implementation of the changes to take effect at QUT, throughout August to November 2025.
These changes will need to be considered by all researchers and reviewers involved in human research ethics applications.
A downloadable version of the 2025 NS and a link to FAQs that outline the major NS changes are available:
Throughout August OREI will be updating all relevant human research ethics documentation,
training, and advice on the Digital Workplace for staff and HiQ for research students.

Signing and Submitting
Application forms in ERM require a two-step ‘Sign’ then ‘Submit’ process in order to successfully submit your application for review and approval.
Also, some sub forms may also require signing before submission.
The ‘Request Signature’ or ‘Sign’ actions for Applicants can be found within a form wherever you see the blue buttons.
Then ‘Submit’ your application once it has been signed.
What's next?
or has your form has been submitted?
Try the ‘Completeness Check’ button in a form to see if there are any outstanding actions.
In all circumstances you will always receive a confirmation email that your form has been submitted.
